Since then I've been professionally tutoring at Mathnasium for almost two years. On the side, I love to play music! I've been playing piano since I was seven years old. Sachrison Graduation - Benjamin Sachriso

Benjamin Sachrison

"Hello, I'm Ben. I was born and raised in San Diego, California (Go Padres!). I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a concentration in American Politics and a bachelor's degree in History from UCLA. I realized the classes I loved the most throughout my education career were due to the amazing educators who made the topic come alive. These educators were always engaging, easily understandable, and demanded excellence of their students. I try to follow their example in my tutoring approach. Learning should be fun and rewarding, not a chore to simply get done. My tutoring method is student led and will always be adjusted to to best fit the needs of the student.

I have four years of tutoring experience working with middle schoolers during an after school mentoring program. I worked directly with students who needed help on homework, test taking strategies, and organizational skills. I also frequently worked in groups of 3-4 students. In this setting, I tutored World History, Ancient World History, and American History."

Hazel Ramos

"Hi my name is Hazel! I'm currently a third year student at UCLA studying Sociology and Social Studies. My interest in tutoring stems from my own experiences. Growing up I did not have the resources available that provided me with additional help in my school work. I now have the opportunity to support and teach students in my own community. Additionally, transitioning to online learning has only created additional challenges for students. As I help my own siblings adapt to online learning, I understand how difficult it can be for both the child and the parent to navigate virtual learning. My ultimate goal is for students to fully understand the subjects they need help in while also finding ways to best support them during virtual learning."

I also was taught a lot of Spanish grammar and vocabulary since it was our main language. One of my main hobbies is playing soccer, and I enjoy it almost as I enjoy science! I’m excited about sharing my knowledge and helping students advance in their studies.
